FAQs (Frequently Asked Questions)

Virtual Work Manager started its operations in October of 2019

It’s always been a passion of mine to develop my existing skills to support creatives, entrepreneurs and other business owners across the various aspects of their businesses. The goal has always been to make an actual difference in the livelihood of each business owner.

I am always on the lookout for skilled, dedicated freelancer workers like myself and will not work with people who are not as driven to take full charge of projects. I am building my dream team so together we can take the best care of you and your business but I will still take care of your business needs myself for at least 3 to 6 months before handing over to the team (whom I’ll continue to oversee and support). Once we are through the initial setup phase of working with your business (usually 3 months) the main daily tasks will be taken care of by one of our amazing unless you, as a client are strongly against working with someone else. I will continue to be working with you as your Virtual Business Manager; i.e. I will be supporting you with accountability, output, and further consulting.

Yes. To support clients who need assistance during high-volume work or urgent tasks periods, I do work on holidays and weekends at a different percentage rate.

E.g. It is standard practice in South Africa that Sundays and public holidays are invoiced at a rate of 200% and Saturdays at a rate of 150%

Please feel free to get in touch should you require clarity on this.

On specific projects, yes a deposit (usually 50%) is required, although most projects are paid for in arrears (upon project completion/submission/handover).

Yes I do. There is however a fee that comes with all urgent work – it works up to a single hourly standard Virtual Work Manager rate.

This fee is referred to as a Priority Fee.

Find out what my current rate is to be sure what the fee will be for your urgent tasks / projects.

The standard termination notice for ongoing work is 30 days as continuous work has ongoing preparation and planning involved.

By taking charge of the time-consuming, but necessary daily tasks so that you can have time back on your hands to focus on your larger objective or bigger picture.

You will not need to worry about work not getting completed when working with me, because that’s the whole point – once you hand over any duties and tasks to me, they get done, within or outside of business hours based on when you need them done.

The real question you should be asking is, “What is an hour of your time worth to your business?” – because if it is more than my hourly rate, then it becomes obvious that working with me is the best course of action.

Above this, you have to honestly review the benefit vs cost part of this partnership because the cost-cutting benefits of working with me (instead of full-time/part-time or part-time staff answers this question).

Please refer to the affordability question above; and also consider that you aren’t being invoiced for traditional employee benefits, such as paid leave, pension fund, skills development, medical aid, incentive bonus, and others.

Another interesting point to note is that, you don’t need to worry about whether work tasks are being complete as you will always only pay for completed tasks (in advance or in arrears depending on our agreement).

I take pride in my work and there’s a lot at stake if I don’t perform to your satisfaction. The output / final product is what you ultimately pay for and I will never submit subpar work because how you feel about my output is the most important thing to me.

I always hope to receive more work projects from you as a client or commit to ongoing work, so your happiness as a client is always a priority.

Above everything else, there will be no need to oversee or supervise my work – you will be notified once it is complete or started (should you be someone who needs such notifications).

All work tasks are accomplished without the need to pay for overtime or anything above the invoice, should I work after your traditional business hours.

A retainer fee (paid in advance) allows the benefit of retaining certain hours over a day to have certain or all tasks completed within that time. There are discounts available for clients who choose to retain a block of time or hours for their business.

This is really important for clients who need me to work within their set hours (where I don’t have much flexibility in when I complete work tasks).
